India’s Clear Stand: No Dialogue with Pakistan Until Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir is Returned and Terror Handlers are Brought to Justice

In a strong reaffirmation of its long-standing stand, India has sent a blunt message to Pakistan — no engagement or dialogue will be entertained until Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) is returned and concrete action is taken against the masterminds of terrorism operating from its soil.

This uncompromising approach is made against the backdrop of fresh provocation from across the Line of Control and concerns regarding Pakistan’s sustained support to cross-border terrorism. New Delhi has repeatedly underscored that effective peace in the region is not possible while terrorism remains a weapon of state policy.

A top Indian official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “Diplomacy and terror cannot go hand in hand. Pakistan will have to vacate illegally occupied land and destroy the terror infrastructure before any diplomatic initiative is on the cards.”

India asserts that PoK is part of its sovereign land, illegally held since 1947. The administration has adopted a bolder attitude in recent years, particularly since the repeal of Article 370 and Jammu & Kashmir reorganization. The action conveyed a strong message to the world that India’s internal affairs are not negotiable — and neither is its territorial unity.

Experts have the view that this posture supports India’s red lines and places the burden of initiating substantive changes on Pakistan if it seeks to mend ties.

In the meantime, India’s message is clear: Return what belongs to us. End support for terror. Only then can the door be opened to a dialogue.
