Operation Sindoor: Indian Army Destroys Pakistani Radar Systems, Kills Soldiers and Terrorists at PAF Airbase

New Delhi – May 11, 2025

The Indian Army has confirmed a major success under Operation Sindoor, with airstrikes targeting and eliminating a number of terrorist hideouts in Pakistan. In a press conference on Sunday, top military officials explained the Indian Army’s intentions and accomplishments in the operation.

DGAO Air Marshal A.K. Bharti, DGMO Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, Major General S.S. Sharma, and DGNO Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod presented the media with an update of the operation’s progress and outcomes.

Major Points of Operation Sindoor:

Terrorists associated with Kandahar Hijacking and Pulwama Attack Neutralized

Over 100 terrorists were destroyed in airstrikes against nine terrorist camps during Operation Sindoor on May 7. Three of the most important players involved in the Kandahar hijack and Pulwama attack were among the killed militants. The attacks successfully disabled major terrorist organizations that were acting throughout Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK).

Heavy Pakistani Military Casualties

The operation also inflicted a big blow on the military forces of Pakistan, and 35-40 Pakistani officers and soldiers have been reported killed. The Indian Army also lost five soldiers martyred because of firing by Pakistani Army along the Line of Control (LoC). The Indian Army also managed to destroy radar installations in Lahore and Gujranwala, clearly communicating that no Pakistani military installation is out of reach for India.

Pakistan’s Unsuccessful Attempts at Penetration

In response to questions about Pakistan’s airspace violations, DGMO Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai confirmed that the Pakistan Air Force made attempts to infiltrate Indian borders but was successfully thwarted. “We struck with precision, targeting the enemy where it mattered most. Our goal was to destroy their military infrastructure,” said Lt Gen Ghai. He also confirmed that Indian pilots returned safely, with the Indian Air Force having successfully downed multiple Pakistani fighter jets during the operation.

A Clear Warning to Pakistan

The Indian military leadership underscored that Operation Sindoor was a warning to Pakistan that India’s military might is available for any target, at any moment. “We want to make it clear that Pakistan’s military bases are within our reach, and we will not hesitate to target them again if needed,” Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod.

The Indian army has pledged to carry on operations with precision and strategic intent to secure the security and safety of the country’s borders while posing a posture of restraint to remain away from another escalation.

Looking Ahead

Though Operation Sindoor has been a success on the tactical front for the Indian Army, the war has underlined the increasing instability along the India-Pakistan border, where tensions still simmer. India has made it categorically clear that it will not stand any more provocation, exercising its right to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity at any cost.
